The council shall be composed of eight councilmembers. There shall be two councilmembers elected from each ward and the city shall be divided into four wards, the boundaries of said wards to be fixed by the city council by ordinance. The ward boundaries in existence on the effective date of this charter shall remain in existence until changed by ordinance.
