(1) No person, having no right to do so nor reasonable ground to believe that he has such right, shall intentionally damage the property of another.

(2) No person, acting with intent to cause substantial inconvenience to the property owner or to another person and having no right to do so nor reasonable ground to believe that he has such right, shall mistreat, mark, deface, or tamper with the property of another.

(3) Violation of subsection (2) of this section that does not result in property damage exceeding $500 constitutes a violation.
