The provisions of sections 7.960 through 7.978 are intended to be consistent with any applicable provisions of state law. If any provision or its application to any person or circumstances, is held to be invalid for any reason, the remainder of these provisions, or the application of them to other persons or circumstances, shall not in any way be affected.
