(1) Building permit fees for new construction additions, alterations and repairs shall be calculated using the construction valuation as noted under Building Permit Fees in the most recent fee schedule approved by resolution of the City Council.

(2) The final determination of valuation, occupancy and/or construction type under any of the provisions of this Section shall be made by the Building Safety Director.

(3) Residential and commercial valuation of construction shall be calculated by using the Building Valuation Data table published in April by the International Code Council (ICC), and multiplied by the square footage of the structure. Commercial valuation of construction is determined by the greater of either the value stated by the applicant or the valuation determined using the ICC Building Valuation Data Table.

(a) One- and two-family dwelling carports, decks, covered porches, covered patios, and garage conversions to habitable space shall be 50 percent of the valuation for “R-3 Residential” on the referenced Building Valuation Data table.

(b) Alterations and repairs, use 20 percent of the valuation on the referenced Building Valuation Data table.

(4) Permit fees are established in the most recent fee schedule approved by resolution of the City Council.

(5) Work started without permits is subject to an investigation fee for each permit type for which work was started. The investigation fee is established in the most recent fee schedule approved by resolution of the City Council.
